GSB 117

As a minority in the industry, it’s sometimes challenging to feel like you fit in with your colleagues. Research shows that minorities are more prone to developing imposter syndrome – a psychological pattern where people undermine their own accomplishments, despite evidence of their competence and success – than their peers. In a world where people are so focused on building their careers, these womxn will serve as reminders to attendees about all the opportunities in tech, whether that is as a manager or an individual contributor.

Navigating college and finding your first job as a first generation student can be a difficult and confusing process. As first generation college graduates working in tech, we want to share the strategies we used to thrive in our educational journey and how we found our first jobs in tech. We hope that our experiences can be a source of growth and affirmation for fellow womxn with similar backgrounds.
