How did you get into this field? Was it a teacher that exposed you to STEM, a parent that told you to try something new, or a role model that you aspired to be? Many girls, and in particular girls of color from marginalized communities, don’t have access to influencers in STEM, specifically ones who look like them. During this interactive workshop, we will provide training and tools to be an effective role model or mentor for the next generation. Learn from three STEM nonprofits that see the impact of role models and mentorship with their participants. And, walk away with the ideas to engage and opportunities to share your story and experiences that will motivate the next generation of Womxn in Tech. Join us to learn about ways individuals and companies can get involved in efforts to build mentorship in STEM. Together, we can shift the demographics of the tech industry and bring new opportunities for economic mobility to youth in our communities.
